Village Green Developers Receive $40,000 Grant for Playground
GLENS FALLS– The Greater Glens Falls Local Development Corp. board on Thursday authorized a $40,000 grant to the developers of the new Village Green apartments to buy playground equipment.
At the suggestion of 4th Ward Councilman James Brock, the developers agreed to include a half-length basketball court in the design for the playground, said city Community Development Director Thomas Donohue.
The developers, Hudson Avenue Housing Associates, are building 136 apartment units to replace the Henry Hudson Town Houses between Broad Street and Hudson Avenue in Glens Falls.
Construction is being done in phases, with completion expected in 2009.
The first of the new units are expected to be ready for occupancy early next month.
